Acceptance of Terms of Use
These Terms of Use govern your use of the Rent Read Return service and website. By visiting, browsing and using the Rent Read Return website you accept and agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with the following Terms of Use, you should not use the Rent Read Return service or website. These Terms of Use should be read carefully.


Changes To Terms of Use
Rent Read Return reserves the right, from time to time, with or without notice to you, to change these Terms of Use in our sole discretion. The most current and updated version of these Terms of Use can be reviewed by clicking on the “Terms of Use” tab located at the bottom of the pages of the Rent Read Return website. The most current version of the Terms of Use will supercede all previous versions. Your use of the Rent Read Return website or continued use of our service and or website after changes are made means that you agree to be bound by such changes.


Privacy
Any information submitted on the Rent Read Return website is subject to our Privacy Policy, the terms of which are incorporated herein.


Joining RentReadReturn.com
Customers must be at least 18 years of age or older, be a resident of Canada with a valid Canadian address, and have a valid credit card in order to join Rent Read Return. You agree to provide true, accurate, current and correct information about yourself. You also agree to maintain and update your information as required.


How Our Service Works
RentReadReturn.com is an online subscription book rental service providing its members with access to a comprehensive library. The standard subscription plan allows subscribers to have three titles out at the same time, with no due dates, late fees or shipping charges. Subscribers select titles at our website, receive them by Canada Post mail and return them using prepaid mailers. After a title is returned, we mail the next available title.
Below is a description concerning the operation of our service and we reserve the right in our sole and absolute discretion to make changes from time to time and without notice in how we operate our service.


Rent As Many Books As You Want
Most of our subscribers rent between 3-11 books per month. The number of books that you rent will vary based on a number of factors (See "Delivery and Return of Rented Books" below). We provide a number of different subscription plans to accommodate a variety of book reading preferences. Click on the "Your Account" link, located at the top of the pages of the Rent Read Return website and see "View Membership Terms" for details on the various plans we offer.


Delivery In About 2-3 Business Days
We send and receive the books you have selected to rent through Canada Post. The majority of our subscribers are able to receive their books in about 2-3 business days following our shipment of the requested books. The delivery times you encounter will vary based on a number of factors (See "Delivery and Return of Rented Books" below). We will send you an e-mail letting you know when we have received a returned book, and we will also send you another e-mail letting you know when we have shipped your next books, including the anticipated time of delivery.


No Due Dates or Late Fees
Provided you continue to be a paying subscriber of our service, you may keep the books delivered to you as long as you like. We do not impose any required return dates (other than upon cancellation of the service). Given that we have no required return dates, we do not charge any late fees. You will be required to return the books within 10 days following any cancellation of the service or be subject to charge for unreturned books. Also, you may be charged for books that you lose or damage significantly. As an additional member benefit, we will replace the occasional lost books free of charge. However, in the rare event that the number of lost books on your account becomes excessive, as we may determine in our sole and absolute discretion, we will notify you that your account has been placed on hold for review and may charge your Payment Method for the estimated cost of the lost or damaged book(s). We will alert you of any potential charges prior to charging your Payment Method.


Your Queue
Books that you select to rent will be placed into your own rental queue. You may add books at any time however once you provide your initial 10 picks these 10 will be locked in.  As books from your top 10 are sent to you, this will open up spaces in the top 10 rental queue for you to add more of your favourites.  We will always request that you keep a minimum of 10 books in your rental queue as this will ensure that you get the books you want as soon as possible.  Click the "Queue" tab to make adjustments, review requested books or to see which books you currently have out. We will determine which books to send you based on the books in your queue and the priority in which you have listed them. We endeavor to ship to you the books listed highest in your queue; however when availability is limited, we may ship you books lower on your queue.


Delivery and Return of Rented Books
We reserve the right to allocate and ship books to you in any manner that we, in our sole and absolute discretion, determine. In addition, we will, in our sole and absolute discretion, determine the quantity of books we purchase for any particular title and the level of staffing and number of shipments to be processed. As a result, we may not always send you the first choice from your queue, and we may not ship out your next books on the same day that we receive one from you. Our goal is to ship you the books listed highest in your queue. Often, on the same day that we receive a book from you, we will ship the next available book from your queue. In certain instances, your next available book will not ship until the next business day following our receipt of your returned book. This can occur, for example, when your top choices are not available to you or the number of shipments to be processed by the distribution center on that day has been exceeded. When this happens, your books will ship on the next business day. In determining priority for shipping and inventory allocation, we give priority to those members who receive the fewest books through our service. As a result, those subscribers who receive the most books may experience next-day shipping and receive books lower in their queue more often than our other subscribers.
Other factors that may affect delivery times, include, but are not limited to,

  1. the distance between the distribution center from which your book was shipped and your delivery address
  2. the timing of your placement or adjustment of books in your queue and
  3. circumstances impacting delivery by the Canada Post

We do not process returns or deliveries on Saturdays, Sundays or Holidays. We will send you an e-mail letting you know when we have received a returned book, and we will also send you another e-mail letting you know when we have shipped your next books, including the anticipated time of delivery.


Membership and Billing
You can find the specific details regarding your subscription with Rent Read Return at anytime by clicking on the "Account Info" link, located on Rent Read Return website.


Billing
By using the Rent Read Return service, you are expressly agreeing that we are permitted to bill you a monthly subscription fee, any applicable tax and any other charges you may incur in connection with your use of the Rent Read Return service. Additional charges may include charges for premium services, book purchases, merchandise, gift subscription purchases you make, books you fail to return or significantly damage or service level changes you request. As used in these Terms of Use, "billing" shall indicate either a charge or debit, as applicable, against your Payment Method. The subscription fee will be billed at the beginning of your subscription and on each monthly renewal thereafter unless and until you cancel your membership. Click on the "Account Info" link, on the RentReadReturn website to see the commencement date for your next renewal period. We will automatically bill your Payment Method each month on the calendar day corresponding to the commencement of your membership. In the event your membership began on a day not contained in a given month, we will bill your Payment Method on the last day of such month. For example, if you became a paying member on January 31st, your Payment Method would next be billed on February 28th. All fees and charges are nonrefundable. We may change the fees and charges in effect, or add new fees and charges from time to time, but we will give you advance notice of these changes by e mail . If you want to use a different Payment Method or if there is a change in your credit card validity or expiration date, you may edit your Payment Method information by clicking on the "Account Info" link, located on the Rent Read Return website. If your Payment Method reaches its expiration date, your continued use of the service constitutes your authorization for us to continue billing that Payment Method.


Automatic Renewals
Your Rent Read Return subscription will be automatically renewed on a monthly basis. For your convenience, we will bill the monthly subscription fee plus any applicable tax to the Payment Method you provide to us during registration (or to a different Payment Method if you change your account information). Your membership will automatically renew for successive monthly subscriptions, without prior notice to you, unless and until you cancel your membership or we terminate it. You must cancel your membership before it renews each month in order to avoid billing of the next month's subscription fees to your Payment Method.


Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription to Rent Read Return at anytime, and cancellation will be effective immediately. To cancel, click the word "Cancel" on the "Account Info" page and follow the instructions for cancellation under the heading "Cancel Membership." WE DO NOT PROVIDE REFUNDS OR CREDITS FOR ANY PARTIAL-MONTH SUBS CRIPTION PERIODS OR UNWATCHED BOOKS. Upon cancellation, you will be given seven (10) days to return any outstanding rentals. Failure to return such rentals will result in your Payment Method being billed for such items.
We reserve the right to terminate your account for any or no reason.


Delivery of Books
Rent Read Return uses Canada Post to deliver rented books to you and to receive rented books from you. All return postage is paid by Rent Read Return. The actual delivery times of books may vary depending on your delivery address, inventory availability at the time of your order and circumstances impacting delivery by Canada Post. When books are shipped out to you, you will receive an email letting you know that your titles have been shipped to your delivery address. At no time is Rent Read Return responsible for misdirected or delayed mail service.


Right to Terminate
We reserve the right to terminate or restrict your use of our service, without notice, for any or no reason whatsoever. If such cancellation takes place during a billing period for a reason other than a breach of these terms of use by the member, Rent Read Return will refund any pre-paid membership unutilized at the time of cancellation.
Rent Read Return will cancel the membership of any member who uses the books in a manner which violates the terms of use herein.
Upon cancellation of your membership, you will be given 10 business days to return any outstanding rentals. Failure to return such rentals will result in your credit card being charged the list price for such items.

Some of the hyperlinks on the Rent Read Return website may be lead to other websites that are not controlled by, or affiliated with Rent Read Return. In addition, other websites may link to the Rent Read Return website. Rent Read Return has not reviewed these websites and is not responsible for the content or privacy policies of these websites.


Gift Subscriptions
We offer for sale on RentReadReturn.com various Gift Subscriptions redeemable for the Rent Read Return service. We will automatically bill your payment method for any purchased Gift Subscriptions. Gift Subscriptions are subject to the terms and conditions set forth on the "Gift Subscription" page.


Entertainment and Web Site Content
At Rent Read Return we distribute books for entertainment purposes. In addition, the Rent Read Return website allows you and other parties to post blogs and customized reviews or comments concerning the entertainment distributed by our company. Any opinions, statements, advice, services, offers or other information that constitutes part of the content expressed or made available by third parties on the Rent Read Return website are those of the respective authors or producers and not of Rent Read Return or its shareholders, directors, officers, or employees. Under no circumstances shall Rent Read Return or its shareholders, directors, officers, directors, or employees be held liable for any loss or damage caused by your reliance on information obtained through the Rent Read Return website. It is your responsibility to evaluate the information, opinion, advice or other content available through the Rent Read Return website.


Limitations On Use
You must be 18 years of age or older to subscribe to the Rent Read Return service. While individuals under the age of 18 may utilize the service, they may do so only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian. While Rent Read Return does have a large selection of books that are written for children, we do not intentionally seek to collect information from individuals 13 years of age and younger. Unless otherwise specified, the content on the Rent Read Return website is for your personal and non-commercial use and we grant you a limited license to access the Rent Read Return website for that purpose. You may not download (other than through page caching necessary for personal use), modify, copy, distribute, transmit, display, perform, reproduce, duplicate, publish, license, create derivative works from, or offer for sale any information contained on, or obtained from, the Rent Read Return website without our express written consent. Any unauthorized use of the RentReadReturn website or its contents will terminate the limited license granted by us.


Electronic Communications
By using the Rent Read Return service, you consent to receiving electronic communications from Rent Read Return. These communications will include notices about your account (e.g., shipping and receiving e-mails) and information concerning or related to our service, such as featured books or other promotional entertainment information or offerings. These communications are part of your relationship with Rent Read Return and you are entitled to receive them as part of the Rent Read Return subscription. You agree that any notice, agreements, disclosure or other communications that we send to you electronically will satisfy any legal communication requirements, including that such communications be in writing.


Caring for Rented Books, Damaged Rental Books
Please handle the books with care at all times so as not to damage them. Please do not write in or fold down any pages in the books.  Always keep the Books in their protective covers (if applicable) when not in use. You undertake to treat the books and their packaging with the utmost care at all times. Please report damaged books to our Rent Read Return customer service immediately. Rent Read Return reserves the right to charge the current retail price for any book that is not returned to Rent Read Return upon termination of membership or which is returned in a non re-usable condition (reasonable wear and tear excepted). The price charged will equal to the listed price (if book is relatively new) or discounted price (if the book is used).


Purchase of New or Used Books
Rent Read Return offers a wide selection of both new and used books for sale. Should you wish to keep and purchase a book that you have received from your rental queue, simply go into your Account Info, and click on the “Wish to Buy” icon next to the particular book.  If you wish to purchase a book not in your possession or in our available inventory, please click the link to Amazon.ca located on the RentReadReturn website.  At this time, Rent Read Return cannot accept orders via telephone, fax or e-mail. All orders must be placed online using a valid credit card. Rent Read Return does not currently sell to non-Canadian residents or ship Books outside of Canada and does not accept alternate methods of payment.
Rent Read Return uses Canada Post to ship all books via expedited business mail delivery. Actual delivery times may vary depending on;

  1. our inventory availability,
  2. your delivery address,
  3. when you place your order, and
  4. circumstances impacting delivery by Canada Post.

We will send you an email letting you know when we have shipped your books and the anticipated time of delivery. Rent Read Return is not responsible for delayed or misdirected mail.
In the event the purchase price of the books (plus applicable taxes and any other charges you incur) cannot be collected with the credit card information you have provided, or in the event of non-payment, reversal of payment or charge back by a credit card company or other payment provider, Rent Read Return may take all remedies against you to collect such fees owed and may recover from you all costs and expenses incurred by Rent Read Return to collect such fees, including reasonable attorney’s fees and expenses and such fees and expenses incurred by Rent Read Return personnel in the collection of such fees.
Rent Read Return wants you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If you are not completely satisfied with any books (new or used) purchased through RentReadReturn.com, you may return the books for a replacement within thirty (30) days of the day your order shipped subject to the terms and conditions set forth in our Return Policy.


Lost Books
Occasionally you may misplace a rented book. If you have lost a book, you must report it lost to Rent Read Return as soon as possible. Rent Read Return will charge your account for the retail value of the book and continue providing future rentals on an ongoing basis. Should you refuse to pay the retail value of the book which you have lost, Rent Read Return may suspend or cancel your membership in its sole discretion and take such steps as necessary to recover the cost of the lost book, including, but not limited to, the institution of legal proceedings against you. Refusing to pay for a book which you have lost will be considered a material breach of these terms of use.


Stolen Books
Occasionally rented books may be stolen in transit. Rent Read Return treats reports of such incidents very seriously, and requires completion of a Stolen Books Form, to assist authorities in investigating such incidents and to minimize future occurrences. A copy of this form will be provided to the Canada Post Corporation and to police authorities for investigation. In cases where books have been reported stolen, Rent Read Return reserves the right to suspend service until a Stolen Books Form has been signed and returned to Rent Read Return, whereupon Rent Read Return may, in its sole discretion, resume service and send a replacement of the Stolen Book, discontinue service indefinitely, or cancel your membership and charge you the retail price of any book that is stolen. Rent Read Return will contact you to discuss this before charging your credit card.
